Scientific Name: Cryptocoryne wendtii 'Green'
Family: Araceae
Origin: Southeast Asia (Sri Lanka)
Type: Rosette plant
Height: 10–20 cm (4–8 inches), depending on conditions
Growth Rate: Slow to moderate
Appearance: Broad, lance-shaped leaves with a vibrant green color, slightly wavy edges. Compact and bushy, making it versatile for various tank aesthetics.
Difficulty: Easy, suitable for beginners and experienced aquarists.
Placement
Foreground to Midground: Its moderate height makes it ideal for the foreground or midground of aquariums. It creates a lush, natural look when planted in clusters.
Substrate: Thrives in nutrient-rich substrates like aquarium soil or fine gravel with root tabs. Can be planted in sand, but supplementation is needed for optimal growth.

Lighting: Low to moderate (0.5–1 watt per gallon or 20–40 µmol PAR). Higher light promotes faster growth but may cause algae if unbalanced.

CO2: Not required, but low CO2 injection (5–15 ppm) enhances growth and vibrancy.
Nutrients: Benefits from root fertilization (root tabs) and liquid fertilizers with iron and micronutrients. Ensure potassium and phosphate are available.
Water Flow: Prefers low to moderate flow to prevent leaf damage.

Maintenance:
Trim dead or yellowing leaves at the base to encourage new growth.
Avoid frequent uprooting, as Crypts are sensitive to disturbance and may undergo "Crypt melt" (leaf loss) when adjusting to new conditions. Recovery typically occurs within weeks.
